Turbo Sit and Go Poker Guide

Turbo sit and go tournaments are very popular and you can play them on most of the major online poker rooms such as FullTilt in a wide variety of stakes. Turbo sit and go tournaments allow you to play poker tournaments a lot quicker then playing regular tournaments which means if you’re winning, you’re winning more. The difference between turbo sit and go tournaments and regular sit and go tournaments is the blind structure which moves up a lot faster when you’re playing turbo tournaments.

With the fast paced action on the turbo tournament tables you need to be prepared to play poker without any distractions. The blinds go up every five minutes in turbo tournaments so you don’t have as much time to sit and wait for a big hand. A lot of the other opponents in these tournaments will also be playing loosely which means you should be able to catch one of them early on with a good hand.

You don’t even need a monster hand in the early stages of the full tilt poker referral code tournament to have a chance at winning the hand due to the fact most players will be playing marginal hands. If you wait for only the monster hands then you’re better off playing regular sit and go tournaments because you can hang around longer due to the blinds not going up as quickly. Turbo sit and go tournaments are designed for loose and aggressive players looking for action.

There is going to be more luck involved when you play in these tournaments though and you need to keep this in mind. Since most of the big hands will have the chips in the pot preflop you’re going to need to hope your hand holds up and wins. If you don’t like risking your chips preflop then again I suggest you should stick with regular sit and go tournaments.

You need to be ready at any time to throw your chips into the pot on www.PokerStars.com when you’re playing turbo tournaments and the reason is because you don’t have much time. Most turbo sit and go tournaments take anywhere from twenty to sixty minutes which isn’t that long. With the blinds going up every five minutes they will be extremely high after the first thirty minutes and this forces a lot of all-in hands preflop.

In order to be consistent at turbo sit and go tournaments on PokerStars.com you need to only play your monster hands and your marginal hands. Any monster hands should be played, and marginal hands like suited connectors and such should be played as well. When you do play hands you need to play them aggressively and you should never be flat calling any hands unless you’re last to act. The trouble with flat calling in any other position is that you run the risk of an opponent raising your bet and thus leaving you in an awkward position with calling or not. Don’t allow yourself to get into these situations by raising the pots you play yourself thus putting the pressure on your opponents to make there move.

Blackjack Tells

Yes, tells exist in Online Blackjack the same as they do in poker. And yes, you can use them to your advantage as a player the same way, as well. Oftentimes, players will disregard the possibility of using them because they never have before and/or have never noticed them. But they are apparent, and they can help you.

OK folks, pay attention to this very important blackjack strategy. The most common method of a “dealer tell” is when the dealer inadvertently reveals his or her hole card. There are a few different variations to this, and the key to interpreting the tell is paying close attention to how long the dealer glances at the hole card, while at the same time observing the angle in which he or she bends the card to clearly see it before pressing on with the play of the game.

If the dealer has a low card, such as a two through six, as an under card, you might find him lifting the card a tiny bit higher than typical to double check and make sure the card isn’t actually and Ace. The toughest to see is a 4. Even the most seasoned dealers must lift the card once or twice when sitting on a 4 as a down card.

On the other hand, online casino dealers can usually notice face cards quickly. If you’re paying attention, and you notice the dealer only sneaking a very brief look at the down card, one that strikes you as quicker than the typical look, you can bet on the chance he’s holding a paint card, or at least a card of higher value than a six. Seasoned dealers are aware of these tells, and will discipline themselves to treat every card, ever turn, the same way, and devote the same amount of time to each one…however, every once in a while you can catch them napping, and pick up on their laziness.

There are professionals that dedicate entire globs of reading blackjack com material to understanding and even forcing tells from the dealer, but before you get too involved, try picking up on the basics. If you find it works, give some more in-depth reading a try. You never know, it might give you an edge and a chicken dinner at a casino buffet near you.

NBA Betting Questions

Are the Suns a playoff threat? Despite their loss before the nation’s president, are the Bulls really a threat to make the playoffs? Will Marbury destroy the Celtics chemistry? How much will Marbury even play?

Tons of NBA betting questions to address, all of which have an affect on what bets you might be placing on these NBA contenders and pretenders down the stretch to the playoffs.

Addressing the Suns: Shaq looked like the player he once was recently with a big 45-point game and another 33-point one. I get the feeling he burned up everything he has left in those two performances, though, and that you won’t see this from him again, possibly ever. Where was he the rest of this season?

The bottom NBA lines with the Suns is they’re not even in the playoff mix right now. The Suns might think the Suns are in the playoff hunt, but if you’re even putting money on them making it to the next round of ball, you’re throwing your money away. There are far too many reasons to list that while the #2 seed and the #9 seed in the West are only separated by an amazingly slim 6 games or so, all the teams above the Suns are better clubs that’ll be there come playoff time.

But what about the Bulls? This isn’t like baseball betting. Who would’ve thought Brad Miller of all people would’ve injected life back into Chicago. That’s not to say the Bulls haven’t been playing better before the big trade that landed the former Bull back in the United Center, and at one point recently they had won 8 of 12. Ultimately, though, don’t count on him as a game-changer, and thus, don’t hold your breath, or your money, that the Bulls will make the playoffs.

Which brings us to Marbury. Why would the best team in the East take a chance on this guy? What it won’t cost them in salary, it’ll cost them in team chemistry, bank on it. You see recent interviews of this guy where he says he’s a changed man and you just want to believe him so much, don’t you?

Don’t. The guy is a poison. Furthermore, and much more importantly, he’s not a great player. He never was. I’ve never in 20 years of watching basketball seen a point guard act more selfishly on the court…and that includes Steve Francis. He’ll never make anyone around him better, and if you give him the ball, it disappears into the Stephon abyss of missed jumpers.

If anything, Marbury hurts the Celtics to the point where I’d change my money to a Cavs/Lakers finals now, or, even better, save my money for the soccer betting season.

Pai Gow Poker

I’m sure you’ve been walking through a casino or playing on TitanPoker at some point or another wondering what the heck that particular game is? Well, you never know until you learn, which brings me to Pai Gow poker.

It’s one of the easiest games to learn and, for me, was one of the last poker games I ever learned. For those who might still be walking by one of the few Pai Gow poker tables in a casino and not know how to play, here’s a run-through for you.

Assuming you already know the basic rules of poker by playing on < ahref="http://www.playsolidpoker.com/ultimatebet-com/">UltimateBet, Pai Gow takes those and applies them to two different poker hands for each player, and the dealer.

Each player is dealt seven cards, from which you make your best five-card poker hand and, separately, your best two-card poker hand. Obviously in the two-card poker hand, something like a straight or flush doesn’t factor into the equation…you’re looking for high card or pairs.

Once you’ve set your hands, you play against the dealer’s two hands. The pkr poker.com player must have a better poker hand for both of his or her hands in order to win.

Betting is set before the cards come out. You make one bet, and can be any amount that falls within the minimum or maximum amount set by the table.

I’ll get into strategy in a future article, but there is a good amount of strategy you might not think about regarding how to set your hand.

So how does www.PartyPoker.com make its money on this game? In a word, commissions. If you lose, obviously, you forfeit your bet. However, even when you win, the dealer takes a 5% commission of your winnings.

Something else to note, Pai Gow can be a slow game, and it’s probably not one you want to play if you’re looking at a chance to score a quick buck to bankroll your alcohol for the evening. Most hands end in ties, and thus you can go for a few hours without taking in or losing much scratch, depending, of course, on how much you’re putting up.

One last tidbit for Pai Gow poker.com newbies, most games will incorporate a joker into the mix. Virtually unseen at casinos, the joker can only be used to complete a straight, flush or straight flush. If that won’t work for you, the joker automatically becomes an Ace. And since you can’t get a straight or flush in the two-card hand, a joker placed there is always counted as an Ace.

Online Poker Tells

If you don’t already know what a poker tell is it’s basically something an opponent does that gives you an idea of what they might have. Now of course picking up on these poker tells isn’t always going to payoff because even if they commit a poker tell they might be doing it purposely to try and trap you in the pot. If you think you’ve caught a player committing an internet poker tell then you should find out, but if they don’t fold then you should give up on the hand because they probably actually have something.

* The first poker tell you should look out for is whether or not a player pauses when it’s there turn to make there move. If they pause for a little bit and then come out betting they probably have a decent hand and was just checking what beat them. If they pause and then check they probably have a straight or flush draw at best and you should try taking the pot down now before they hit there hand.

* If you notice a player is taking most of there time clock every play it’s probably because they’re distracted or at work or something. You can sometimes steal pots when it’s there blind because they might be too distracted to play the hand.

* Some players will always raise when they’re in position preflop to try and steal the blinds, if you catch a player doing this a couple times then re-raise them next time they do it. Most of the time they will think about it for a few seconds and then fold the junk hand they raised with. If they re-raise you then they might actually have something so you’ll want to proceed with caution at this point in the hand.

* Usually when a free poker player comes out with a big bet quickly in a hand with a lot of limpers you can usually assume they don’t have a great hand and are trying to take the pot down now. If you have a good draw or high pair or something I would suggest raising the player to see if they really want to play the hand.

* This one isn’t a tell against your opponents, but you can judge the player quality by looking at the time you’re playing. If you’re playing during the morning or evening US time when the US player’s are playing you’ll see a lot more fish then during the hours most Americans are sleeping.

* When a new player comes to the table you can tell right away whether they will be a loose player or tight player. If they wait for the big blind then they usually are tight and if they don’t want for the big blind and just post when they arrive you can assume they’re pretty loose and action orientated.

* If you notice a player reloading his stack numerous times in a session you can assume the player is a fish. Try to target them because they’ll probably be on tilt from already losing and you could make them reload there stack again if you’re smart. Just make sure when you play poker online you are playing smart and with your head, instead of stupid and with your gut.
